I’m in the process of renewing mine, both mine and my wife’s run out in may, neither of us received a renewal notice, we did it at the post office, they do it all for you even taking your photo, they then give you a receipt in case you are stopped as they cut your licence up..0

The DVLA never contacted me on the 2 occasions I failed to return my expired DLs.
