Water under floorboards

Just discovered standing water under floorboards and plumber coming Wednesday to check pipework. Does anyone know if this water will disappear or will it need pumping out? Thanks in advance.

It rather depends on the source. If it is ground water that has risen up, it should drain away via the same route it got under the floor. It has been an exceptionally wet winter and spring so far. If it is a leak, it might drain away, but might not if the area is a layer of clay.
You could pump it out, and this would help the area dry out quicker.
You shoudl also check to make sure that all the air bricks that ventilate under your floor are clear. This will also help dry out the area. You could leave the floorboards up while the area dries out.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1 -

I would be looking at pumping the water out, tomorrow. I doubt you will know if the level is increasing.
