Car Insurance Quote Question
Hi,
I am currently looking for car insurance for a new vehicle I have recently purchased. Last year I received a penalty notice for speeding, however was given the option to take up a motoring course instead of paying the fine and having the points added to my license. I took the motoring course so didn't have to pay the fine or receive the points.
When I am getting car insurance quotes the section which asks if I have any motoring convictions in the last 5 years, do I need to select "Yes" or "No" as I was never given the fine or points?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

No. A course is not a conviction.1

Last time someone asked about this one of the insurance Guru's said at present UK insurers have no way of checking who has or hasn't neen on a speed awareness course - so even if they ask about that it's up to you whether you say yes or no. To hike the premium for a course would be wrong in my opinion.

Doesn't matter, insurers ask the questions under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and things like courses are instantly spent and so dont have to be declared for insurance quotesMr.Generous said:Last time someone asked about this one of the insurance Guru's said at present UK insurers have no way of checking who has or hasn't neen on a speed awareness course - so even if they ask about that it's up to you whether you say yes or no.
