Partners income and my Child’s DLA on IVA
Options
I have had an IVA in place for nearly 3 years. Last year my Son was awarded DLA and I advised the pay plan of this, but sought advice from CAB who advised that my child’s DLA should not be considered as income as it’s not my income but my Sons. Payplan have since returned with that it has to be considered in the budget and then offset with expenses. I have explained that sometimes I will save my Sons DLA or some of it, for larger expenses he needs. I am concerned that this will look like surplus income when it’s not? They keep replying with they need to see where the money comes in and where it goes on my plan. This to me sounds like they are treating it as an income?
Also my husbands wages are added to the income, but not his individual expenses such as his loan and credits card payments. This was not a joint arrangement, so once again on the budget looks as though we have a much larger disposal/left over income than we do, so it’s not a true representation of our outgoings. I have had no issues for the past 3 years with this company, but since my original claim handler has left I’m just getting what seems like copied and pasted responses,
Any help or advice would be hugely appreciated

It should be straightforward to offset Child DLA with Child Care Costs. It's just an in and an out.
Does your husband earn more than you? If so it may be tactical for him not to comply with requests for info, and just split expenses 50/50

Ok. Then it's a case of nagging and complaining to Payplan until they understand the reality of your situation0
