If tyou had not signed up to the class action you are not included in that claim.
VW settled out of court to that claimant so no admittance of liability.
Any new claim would have to be started from scratch and you would need to find someone to take the case on.

Ask VW, clearly they think they were likely to be paying out.
It's a shame the government didn't step in like happened in the US, to make claims easier.0
