Glow communications PLC / tracing old shares

I have recently come  across a share certificate for Glow communications from 2000 , and all I know is that the company has been wound up.
Does this mean that the certificate and shares are subsequently worthless and this will be a “lost” investment

Probably. It looks like it entered administration in 2004. You could try calling the share registrar to see what it says. It should be named on the share certificate though note in the early 2000s there were mergers and name changes so you might need to do some Googling.

You could try to look for the stockmarket announcements it made. In theory they should be available via the FCA's National Storage Mechanism website but I always have trouble getting anything sensible out of it.
