Video recording glasses or caps. Any good or just a gimmick?

Hi all
After a lovely stroll down the river Avon yesterday I yet again missed some stunning sites. I keep telling myself I need a pair of those wearable glasses or a cap that records videos. I’m not bothered if the camera is visible or not. It simply isn’t practical to walk round for hours holding a camera. A prime example… I saw a woodpecker doing its stuff. By the time I reached for my phone it had gone. There’s loads of adverts around suggesting HD camera glasses. Are these any good? Is it even possible a lens so tiny as to fit in a pair of glasses could catch HD Video… without the difficulty of powering this camera. Maybe a cap would be better then?

Any ideas guys?

Can't give a personal opinion but here's a review of Meta/Rayban's latest effort at this form.

Thing I did note is that they will record for a minute before needing to be started again so maybe not what you wanted.0 -

I can't see them being any good at all. I think you'd be better off with a phone in your pocket that you can quickly whip out should a nice scene appear. But I don't think your going to get decent shots of small things that don't hang around for long like birds without a "proper" camera with half decent zoom, and probably additional equipment.
You didn't miss any sights, you saw and enjoyed them with your own eyes. Perhaps focus on taking a few stills with a good phone camera that you can look at in the future to jog your memory of the wildlife you came across.

I've always got a camera with me.
I find it easier and quicker than a phone. Easier to grab quickly, button press and ready to go.
Stays ready for how long you set it.
The phone has to be removed carefully, screen swipe, screen swipe, setting etc.
Unless you keep it set to video or camera almost ready to go. I've done that but if you don't unlock it quickly enough you're done for.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Taken on board all the comments here and I think that it could be misconstrued wrongly wearing these. It’s pretty sad but I guess it’s too risky when people could possibly get the wrong idea. Thanks for the advice anyway guys.0
