Form INT 411 has two pages.
Page 1. List here any UK government securities that the deceased held. For example, Treasury Stock, Exchequer Stock, War Loan and any other stock held on the Bank of England register. Also include any municipal securities, mortgages, debentures and stock held in countries, cities and towns, docks, harbours and water boards. Any Northern Ireland municipal stock should also be listed here.
Page 2. Listed stocks, shares and investments that did not give the deceased control of the company

List here any holdings of stocks, shares, debentures or other securities that are listed on the Stock Exchange Daily Official List. Include any:
• shares held in an Individual Savings Account (ISA) (include a figure for any uninvested cash but not for any other cash or
insurance policies)
• unit trusts (give the full name, for example, Axa Equity and Law Unit Trust Managers, Pacific Basin Trust Accumulation Units)
• investment trusts
• holdings in Open-Ended Investment Companies (OEICs)
• foreign shares, but only if they’re listed on the London Stock Exchange or other UK exchanges
If the deceased owned any of these types of shares that gave them control of the company you should list them at box 4 on Schedule IHT412, ‘Unlisted stocks, shares and control holdings’, instead of here. This will be extremely rare.
Here’s my question/confusion
My dad traded through Hargreaves Lansdown and Barclays smart investor.
Hargreaves lists 6 companies, prices etc, until date of death
Barclays,16 companies prices until date of death.
Which page do I list them on, as the totals at the bottom of the page filter to different boxes? Do I squash everything on one page or the other? I don’t know the difference between shares?

Page one sounds dubious? War loans, treasury stock? I’m thinking ignore page 1, put them all on page 2?
Any ideas?

Sounds like you don't know the difference between stocks and shares listed on the the London stock exchange, unit trusts/oeics managed by collective investment companies and government gilts.
Easiest thing to do is block out your father's name on each investment list and jpeg the lists onto the forum, so the forum contributors can advise which investments should be listed on page 2 of IHT 411, and if there is anything which should be inserted on page 1.
With a bit of luck you can get away with merely appending both HL and Barclays valuations to page 2 and state on the form total securities per the valuations and give a grand total for both. However do need to see the individual lists to be certain.0
