Thanks so much for all your help guys! It’s cancelled! However, the charges they say are in my final bills seems very unfair. Originally my contract was for £31 a month. They are telling me I am now going to be charged £62 for the first bill and another £31 for the final bill. This seems really unfair seeing as I am in the cooling off period. Does this seem legit?0

Really valid point! I won’t go into too much detail and bore everyone, but we have an autistic son where TV is such an important part of his life. Sky has gone up to a ridiculous price and I thought we would be able to manage the transition between sky and virgin. However, we realised it was a transition too much for my son. I know some may not understand this, but it’s a huge thing for my son ( we feel very bad thinking we could change it!) it also didn’t help that virgin seemed a lot slower!iniltous said:Although it seems you are quite within your rights to cancel after the service has been installed, what has happened that has made you decide that it’s not the service for you , if you were pressured into taking the service and regretted signing up immediately , presumably you would have cancelled before the installation date , so why cancel after such a short time ? , if it were a poor quality installation ( for example ) and the cancellation is accepted within the cooling off period, they won’t come along and remove anything , if it’s not working properly, it’s possibly a little premature to throw the baby out with the bath water , if a better offer came from an alternative supplier, I always think why did they keep looking after signing up , personally I would only sign up after picking a supplier and rejecting the others , not while still unconvinced, I wouldn’t continue to look , once committed, to keep looking risks being disappointed with your choice .
I’m not a VM fan BTW , had them in the past , I doubt I would use them again , but I’m just curious what constitutes ‘ For many reasons, we have come to the conclusion that it’s not for us’0 -
Sometimes telecoms companies take the final months charge, then refund, just in case you ran up a bill that they need to cover... could it be this?PenguinForever said:Thanks so much for all your help guys! OK , in the circumstances that seems a perfectly valid reason to to reject VM , even if it leaves VM somewhat unhappy , if the cooling off period doesn’t need a reason they VM agree to , they should accept your decision , it does seem wrong that they can charge as much as they claim , TBH , the T&C’s should specify what’s charged for and what isn’t .0
