Student and Universal Credit

Hi
My son (24 with Asperger Syndrome) started Uni in Sept 23. He receives UC (he has the Limited capability for work and work related activity). He received PIP until February this year when after assessment was stopped.
My question is should his UC cease as he has lost PIP even though he still has limited capability for work?
Im very worried as I assumed as he was receiving the same UC amount it was ok but I have read the UK Gov website and am unsure.
He gets a maintenance loan from SFE.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes, if he qualifies for UC under:
Studying full-time
You cannot usually get Universal Credit if you’re studying full-time. There are some exceptions.
You may be able to get Universal Credit if you’re studying full-time and any of the following apply:
- you’re aged 21 or under, in full-time non-advanced education and do not have parental support
- you’re responsible for a child
- you live with your partner and they’re eligible for Universal Credit
- you’ve reached the qualifying age for Pension Credit and live with a partner who is under that age
- you’ve received a Migration Notice telling you to move to Universal Credit
- you’re disabled, were assessed as having limited capability for work before starting your course, and are getting:
- Personal Independence Payment
- Disability Living Allowance
- Child Disability Payment in Scotland
- Attendance Allowance
- Armed Forces Independence Payment
then if he is no longer in receipt of PIP, he would no longer qualify for Universal Credit. He should notify UC and they will determine if he is eligible or not.Our green credentials: 12kW Samsung ASHP for heating, 7.2kWp Solar (South facing), Tesla Powerwall 3 (13.5kWh), Net exporter1
