Home address for car insurance

My son has secured a 2-year management traineeship. One condition of the offer is ownership of a driver's licence and a car. He has got his licence and has managed to get a car. He has now got his first six-month secondment which is in another part of the UK. For car insurance purposes, which address should he use for his car insurance? He has used both locations for quotes and the difference is significant. Advice needed. Thank you.

Wherever he's living. If he's living with you and commuting then your address, if he's renting a place near work then that address.

Unless he's staying in a different hotel day in day out, is still coming back every week, and has no semi-permanent/permanent base other than your home - then it'll need to be wherever he is living, as above.
