Morning! Glorious day so far! Three loads of washing to do so good job too! OH has reiterated he wants a flower bed so now I have to hope the flowers I sowed will do their thing and pop up soon. Today is make the bed, put it in place and start filling with whatever I can find to fill the bulk of it. And probably fetch some more cheapie compost stuff. Other than that, no plans. OH had a good idea too, the washing powder I got is now ensconced in two very very large plastic jars he liberated from work after they were emptied, so no more smell. Think sweetie jar on steroids. At some point I need to read the gardening mags I have and put them in the recycling, so that's a job for the coming week too.camelot, well done on the flat emptying and tidying and your DD too. Gers, happy gardening. There was a spot of clematis wilt going on here last year, my friend lost two of hers, Maybe it's that or maybe it just needs a reinvigorate. WL, hope your knee holds up!AA, you say Welsh Marches, I think of Phil Rickman [ near enough ] sounds wonderful. Rosy, you say a day of football like it's a surprise Have fun! TA, enjoy doing whatever you get round to doing Florence, happy new hair day! Nanny, you can still take it out now, it'll have time to defrost. Izzy, I like real time shopping too, easpecially for things you have to live with for a long time. A picture doesn't cut it really. Take care all, enjoy what sun you get!
Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...9 -
Hi everyone,
I was in bed and asleep by 10.00 last night I was so tired. The childcare this week has been intense and still isn't over - L and B are off to the theatre in London this afternoon, rearranged from when Esther was in hospital. Oh well we're off to Yorkshire for a few days at the end of next week so we'll have a rest then (although we'll be doing stuff around the house, they say a change is as good as a rest don't they).
We're taking the children to a playbarn this afternoon so they should be entertained without too much fuss. The parents will be back for bedtime so we'll just hand them over. Tomorrow will be a quiet day hopefully although when Esben looks at me with his big blue eyes and asks me to do something with him I'm a pushover. Esther is also good at making her wishes known now, usually in insisting that we take her dollies pushchair out for a walk.
We had our first day looking after Nate on Thursday and it seemed to go pretty well theree were no tears from any of us, we spent a lot of the day outside because he loves being out and about.
Nanny, good news about the op, fingers crossed that all the investigations are positive and you don't need much treatment.
Have a good day.

Morning allBrrrr it's cold again this morning. I wish the temperature would get up the scale a bit and the wind would drop. I really wanted to get out into the garden again today but I'm such a wimp and I'd only do it half heartedly so I'll bide my time. DH is more hardly than me and he's made a start on clearing some stuff I was going to do :-) Made rock cakes earlier. Was just going to put them on the baking sheet when I remembered I'd not put any sugar in them. I tried to mix some in but they're gonna be a failure methinks! DohI'm with TA regarding things to do and avoiding them.Nan glad to hear things are moving fast. Had a similar situation a couple of years ago and had to have a hysterectomy. Within a week of being diagnosed I was all set up for scans etc and the op date was here before I knew it. When then NHS works well it's absolutelywonderful.Have a good day all x8

I made a start on the dead clematis, until I ripped a chunk out of one finger pulling down branches. Should have worn gloves. Before and after photos - there's a lot more to do but taking an 'injury time' break to stop the bleeding.8

nannywindow said:Morning all, thanks for all the good wishes. Yesterday I had 2 phone calls for appointments about 2 mins apart. I now have a CT scan booked for next Sat and an MRI on the following Monday, both at the same hospital, shame they couldn't be one after the other. I still can't believe how quickly everything is moving.
This morning I was wide awake at 5.30, no idea why so the wm is already on. DD is collecting me this morning to go to the hairdresser, I was only there about 7 weeks ago but my hair has grown so fast and it's so thick it needs taming ! I forgot to take some liver out to defrost last night so once more I don't know what to have for tea, there's plenty in anyway so we won't starve.
AA I love going to Hay but I never buy anything as I get distracted by the myriad of books and flit from one shop to another, drives Mr Fix It mad.
WL hope the knee holds up and gets better soon.
Right I'd better get showered and dressed.
Take care all
nan xxJust wanted to add, don’t be alarmed by the speed of appointments etc, I have found the NHS to be VERY on-the-ball with cancer care and it can seem scarily quick.AA7 -
I went back to the dead clematis but quickly found a birds nest tucked inside with three bright blue eggs inside so have withdrawn defeated. It's probably dunnocks, I hope that they come back to the nest

Nanny - glad to hear your results were good. Wishing you the best on the next treatments for you and Mr. NW.
AA - Hay is one of my favorite places to visit. First time I went, I had twenty boxes of books shipped home - almost all on the home front in World War II - cookbooks and gardening books mainly. Even the charity shops would ship for you. Was glad I got them when I did. The last time I went could not find a single book for my collection. A friend I traveled with on several trips didn't want to be bothered going there but I talked her and a friend who lived in England to go. He drove and by the time we were ready to come back to London, the car was so full, we could barely get the people in - and it was a big car. She insisted that we go on every trip after. She was looking for books for our British Isles Family History Society and she found a lot that really were helpful, especially parish histories. We were always looking for book sales even when taking tour groups around the British Isles. Always reserved one morning near the end of the trips for taking any remaining books that weren't mailed from the shops to the post office before heading home. My first trip to England I didn't ship them home. One suitcase weighed 68 pounds and the other weighed 69 pounds. My clothes were in the tote bag. At that time you could take two suitcases on the plane free if they weighed less than 70 pounds. I just made it! But they put labels all over the bags (at least 8 on each one) that said "heavy". When I got back home and was going through customs, the man at the desk looked at my list of what I had bought and saw how much was for books. He took one look at the labels and said "It must be all books or bricks in there" and waved me through. Had quite a time getting them into the car to go home.
Hope everyone has the best day possible under the circumstances.

Hello everyone
Late one from me as little one was here for her sleepover yesterday. we've had a busy day - she had her swimming lesson this morning , then I had a hot chocolate while she had half an hour or so in soft play. Then we got the bus down to her house - washed her trampoline, the outdoor table and chairs and her outdoor kitchen. Then I weeded and generally tidied while she alternated between bouncing on the trampoline and riding her scooter. There's lots of plants most of which I have no idea what they are, but the garden has obviously been looked after - little one laughed at me not really knowing which were weeds and which were flowers. Just finished before DD came home from work - she gave me a lift up home. Weird day weather wise - sunny and warmish, then chilly, then sunshine, etc - no rain though.
Hope everyone has had a good day x4 -
