I had trouble getting rid of Parsec after a struggling with a Prolific Study which I had to Return.  CliveOfIndia helped me to get rid of it through Task Manager.

Things seemed all right until now and I worry in case Parsec has done something to my laptop and I can't  get rid of the orange screen to get back into my laptop.

I am writing this on my Tablet.

I will be very glad of any information or help, thank you.

QUICK UPDATE:  After muddling and trying to press some keys somehow the orange screen has gone away and my laptop (typing on it now) seems to be back to normal.

Although the panic has eased (I thought my laptop was ruined) I would be very interested if anyone is able to suggest what has happened.  I wonder if the Parsec had anything to do with it.

I will be grateful for any replies, thank you.  Now that my normal desktop screen is back I have run Malwarebytes and nothing was detected.

I used the link you gave, thanks cymruchris.   I don't remember clicking anything like that but the orange screen was a complete solid block and seemed to be totally frozen.  The was nothing to see apart from the solid orange block.

I'm grateful to have my laptop screen back to normal and will be extra careful in future.  Thank you for replying.
