Afternoon all, need I say it's raining?I nipped into town to get some sun cream for the DGC as they are off on hol next week. There is only 1 that doesn't seem to make them itch, and we've tried a lot. At least there was 20% off. DS2 has also asked me to go in the loft to get some suitcases down. Took a library book back and swapped it for another as I have read 1 of the thick books DS1 got me for Mothers Day. Just finished some turkey broth I made from the Xmas carcassNan, I'm sorry you have to have further tests etc. but glad the surgery was successful (HUGS)Some form of chicken later, but DH wants scampi!Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning! Afternoon! I thought I didn't get much while in Costco but a few items found their way into my trolley, just stuff for the freezer, some cheese for my sister, a big box of washing powder that I have since discovered I am allergic to in the sense that the smell is so strong from it, it's making my nose bung up and my chest wheeze so I've had to put it outside in the goth box for now. We did stop at ikea on the way back, OHs mum wanted meatballs, I wanted a magnetic knife strip, she walked out with meatballs and freezer bags, I walked out with four dishes [ to replace broken ones] and freezer bags. We went straight downstairs and when I asked the girl where the strips were, she said, oh, they're accessories, they're upstairs in the kitchen area. I wasn't feeling wandering round upstiars on some interminable hunt so they can wait for another day. Today is opticians and whatever else I fancy...gardening maybe? :)Just went to the opticians, contact lens prices have more than doubled since last year so my fairly economical lenses now cost as much as a pair of varifocals in an independent shop.Nan, good news re surgery, you don't want any more of that! Fingers crossed for good news from barrage of test results next and deifnitely, holiday, the onyl way to go! TA, same, but also failing beyond a small air gap
SO, good luck with that. I can't cook a meal for less than four and it's me and the OH. Someitmes I jump for joy when his friend with the hollow legs comes round. Mind you, when I was single it was still three or more portions.. Thoght about sharing it with someone you get on with from your group? Gers, stop teasing me with the belly pork, I keep thinking bubbling and crunchy crust and juciy meat and fat. It's probably the only meat I don't mind there being fat on. COndolences on the loss of your mentor and friend..WL, hope it's stopped raining for you. Izzy, if I ever win the lottery, I'll get you a bathroom and his and her toilets...

Afternoon all. I am having my hair cut tomorrow - thought it was untidy - realised I last went to the hairdresser in December!
Poor granddaughter has been stuck at Gatwick since Wednesday - to go to Melbourne via Dubai. She is coming home tonight and going to Heathrow tomorrow - her mum booked a flight and stuck it on her credit card as she has to meet up with her tour group.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Right, off to garden some, take care all!It is so tasty, I can't resist it when crunchy and soft fat. And @Bella - another of my favourites too, especially with soft buttery mash and onions. Too much food talk! Here's a tribute to my friend and mentor, lovely to read. He certainly did shake up education, which is when he involved me in his grand plan.I'm getting a refund on my council tax which I paid fully at the end of March, since then the local authority has agreed to freeze the fees, something which they declined at first despite the Holyrood government offering funding instead. At long last they have done a U- turn. We are in turmoil.
