Morning all
Awake bright and early yet again so thought I'd start us off
Food shopping this morning and hope to get out into the garden some time today too. Not sure what to have for dinner tonight but I've still got a couple of rashers of bacon in the fridge from when I used my breadmaker to make a cheese and bacon loaf the other day so bacon sarnie for lunch at least lol
Have a good day everyone x

Good morning, thanks for starting Chrisca. Cheese and bacon bread sounds nice.
It's not raining yet, but going to I think - this never ending rain, it's depressing.
I nipped to Te*co yesterday, so don't need to shop today. I'm trying to run freezer stocks down, it seems to take ages though.
I'll just potter on as usual. I was going to get my summer clothes out of the loft, and go through them, but it hardly seems worthwhile, it's still so cold. I'll just hold off for a bit and hope it warms up.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.11 -
Morning folks and thanks CHRISCA. I sympathise I was wide awake at silly o'clock too. It gets jading. But so does the weather!! Early sunshine now getting overtaken by cloud and the inevitable rain is forecast for later. And the way the trees are swaying says it's windy again too.
It's the usual Friday Tidy this morning and then I could do with a quick trip down into town. I have meds to pick up from B**ts and I need a couple of bits from Savers too. Oh and I must remember to take a card to post too - and not bring it back home with me like the last card I took down!
SCARLET I have been trying hard to get freezer stocks down since Christmas. I had a blip end of January and took advantage of some ys bits but since then I have been making a concerted effort and there is now room in there to find what I am looking for! This is the point at which I usually panic and fill it up again! I doubt I will ever be able to get the contents of the small freezer in there too but I live in hope!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones, sad or lonely. I am hoping we get good news off NAN today. Take care all and stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning, thanks for starting us off @Chrisca
Yesterday my drive down to the hairdresser wasn't too awful. The rain persisted all day but the low cloud lifted a bit. The reason I go so far away is that the hair salon in town is so noisy and chaotic, like @Izzy I can't bear it. Loud music blaring, two stylists and a couple of juniors all talking. In fact the owner shouts at everyone and is often rude too. So, 50 miles each way for an island of calm and mint tea is well worth it. Hair now cut and coloured, I asked for more thinning as my hair is quite thick and can look limp. I like a bit of texture in it.Today looks much brighter, birds are tweeting and there's a bit of blue in the sky. I'm going to strip my bed, wash it and keep my fingers crossed to hang it on the line. I didn't roast the belly pork yesterday so that's for today. Think I'll make some more soup, perhaps pea and mint this time though I'll need to go out for peas.First thing this morning I got an email about the expected death of a much loved and respected older ex-colleague. He was a man who greatly influenced and supported me at work. We kept in touch over the years, in fact I managed to talk to him vey briefly on the phone earlier this week. He's someone I shall miss a lot. 💕
Now to start my day. Stripping the bed and making it again will keep me busy for a while. I hope thst everyone is doing well and has a good Friday.13 -
Good morning all
Thank you for the start Chrisca
Haven't seen anyone this week so was planning to go to the Friday market but the forecast is rain, so not sure if to go. Don't suppose there will be many stalls and I don't feel like getting soaked waiting for buses
Another one here trying to eat freezer stocks down, but it doesn't seem to be working. Still trying to work out cooking for one.
Take care
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.14 -
Morning all.
It's looking very dull and dreary out there and we are meant to be walking with friends - about 6 miles, followed by a pub lunch. In a way I won't mind if they cancel as it's going to be so muddy along the way but, as it isn't actually raining, I expect we'll go.
I think we're all rather fed up with this weather so hope it soon changes for the better.14 -
Morning everyone it’s raining again I’m off to help out at the food waste I will be very wet by the time this van has been unloaded I was hoping it would hold off a bit surely it’s got to stop at some point . Gers I get mine cut on Monday I’m the same as you it needs thinning out it looks like a mop at the minute pleased you had a relaxing time. Silver oldie I know what you mean when my family left home I found it hard to get the portion sizes right I was used to cooking for 4 teenagers with hollow legs . TA I can beat you there I have had some batteries in my coat pocket for 3 weeks and still forgot to put them in the recycling tub I even kept them in my hand last week when I left the house and still come back with them work that out . Chirsca your bread sounds lovely but I don’t think I could stop at a couple of slices . Scarlet I know how you feel I seen a top I liked the other day and nearly bought it but I’ve got tops off last year never been worn it’s still so cold . I’m off to look at bathrooms this afternoon a long overdue job so hopefully that will be another job done on the house this year I need to win the lottery it would help if I put it on . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing13

Morning all
Its bright and sunny here but very cold and we are due more rain this afternoon 🙄 I am taking little dog for her teeth clean this morning and then the rest of the day is my own apart from walking the pups.
We have had a problem with our house phone for about three weeks now we can ring out but no one can ring in, I bought a new phone as I thought the old one had a problem but the new one is the same, I got on to our provider who said that they would send someone out but that I didn’t need to be in as it was an external visit, just before 8 this morning there was someone hammering on the door, I was in the bathroom so couldn’t answer but looking on the ring doorbell it looks like an engineer I had no notice that they were coming so I just hope he comes back at some point today.
Not sure about dinner tonight will go and look in the freezer after this, we have plenty in so won’t starve, dd is working a late shift tonight so just OH and I here.
I hope we get some good news from Nan today xx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -

Hello all, I didn't have a great night so I've had a bit of a lie in this morning. The news yesterday was 1 step forward and 2 back as the op was a success and I don't need any follow up surgery, but I now have to have another round of tests, scans and appointments to check that it hasn't spread internally, followed by radiotherapy and maybe chemo 😥 Thank you all for thinking of me 🧡
We went to the garden centre afterwards for lunch again, we're on first name terms with the staff now but the food is always good. I treated myself to a new pair of bright blue clogs to use when caravanning too, you'll see me coming in those ! We also had news that another of Mr Fix It's cousins has passed away age 64 which in my view is much too young. He had been fighting cancer for a while and had been on end of life care, so it was expected.
Last night Mr Fix It booked us a holiday in a hotel for the end of May and DD is coming too as we could all do with a break, being hit with 2 parents with cancer is tough on her too and she'll gee us along. Today I have a towel wash going but we're having showers so indoor drying it will be. No idea for tea yet but I really could do with getting back on the diet as my clothes are getting a bit tight, I'll be giving "Billy Bunter" a run for his money if I keep on !!
Mr Fix It has his oncology review this afternoon, hope it's ok, I don't think I can take anymore negative news.
Tomorrow I shall go with DD for a haircut as the hairdresser is a friend of DD's and has a small salon at the back of her house.
Sorry I'm waffling now so take care all, hugs to everyone.
nan xx

Thanks for taking the time to let us all know, you deserve that break in May - well, both of you do.My joy today is getting all my white washing out on the line, first time this year. The wind is blowing well and the sun shines now and then. I had a couple of soup bowls stuck together so did the hot water - ice cubes thing which worked well. Now need to fill the ice cube tray and squeeze it back in the freezer.
