South America Planes - HELP!

Hi,

I'm going South America in April and wanted to go to:

1)Miami
2)Bahamas
3)Cuba (Havana)
4)Mexico (Cancun/Mexico city)
5)Colombia
6)Brazil (Rio)

Whats the cheapest flights/when to get them to South America from London?

Is there any way in which i can get cheap internal flights? Are there any site comparison website down South America?

  • I would try some of the US sites.

Only 5 and 6 on your list are in South America.

I would try flying to miami as a first stop then work my way down.

    Grief what innaccurate advice

    1) Miami and Mexico North America
    2) Bahamas and Cuba Caribbean
    3) Columbia and Brazil South America

So that'll be only 2 in South America.....

You can't easily get to Cuba from USA but you can from Mexico so keep that in mind.

Easiest and cheapest way would be to get as flight to MIA then cruise Bahamas, Cuba and get off in Mexixo. Then completely avoid Columbia and fly to Rio.

I'm sure (I may be wrong) that NO cruise ships that leave from Miami (or anywhere in the USA) will stop at Cuba due to the embargo.

Nice idea though, some variation may work.

You may be right, nonetheless this company appears to cater for the OP explicitly. http://www.voyagesofdiscovery.co.uk/voyage_calendar.php?area_id=33

That's not a very practical route, you need to speak to a flight broker.
You might be able to do something with a One World ticket, but it's not immediately obvious how you could do it. The Bahamas in particular will probably mean you have to double back to Miami, and with the exception of Miami there isn't much in there that can be done via standard/free stopovers.

Your Cuba flight will have to be booked seperately to the others, you cannot hold a ticket that includes a stop in America and also one in Cuba. American airlines or travel companies, are not allowed to issue the ticket if the itinerary includes Cuba. So if you ring a company and they say they cannot book you Cuba flights, don't even tell them that you are going to make your own arrangements for that section, as it may still cause you problems. But you would be best looking at a broker that is UK or possibly aussie based.
When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.
  • Thanks for the comments, ok for argument sake we ignore Cuba, whats the cheapest way of getting to America (miami) from London and returning from Rio? How about the internal flights - Are there any cheap flight comparison websites?

A return ticket from London to Rio De Janeiro with a free stop over in Miami in one direction.
