Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It's fine here but only 3-4°at the moment, it's been bitterly cold for the last few days. There's even a light frost!
We had a nice few days away, despite some terrible weather, it's a good job that we go prepared. It wasn't bad all the time though, and we found a couple of places that we hadn't visited before. We are N T members and love to visit houses and gardens, though woodland areas were just too muddy and slippery so we kept out of them.
Nothing much happening here, just the usual household stuff.
Hope everyone has a good day, thoughts to anyone who is poorly or sad.
Take care folks

Morning all. Tired after a busy day yesterday at SA and I visited a friend in a residential home afterwards. First time I had been there - so sad to see her in care with dementia - she is only 66.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

More housework today and hopefully a trip to the charity shops ,still trying to declutter before my op .

Morning allBright and sunny here but still feeling cold. According to the weather forecast those horrible gusts won't be around today so I might venture out into the garden later but I've got the boring housework to do first.Have a good day all x11

Morning everyone
I'm up earlier than usual as I'm doing a first aid course, today and next week. Another staff member is doing it too so she will give me a lift, it's about 20 miles away. We have to do it every 3 years...hopefully the person doing it will be interesting, or I might be dozing off later!
I'm hoping our weather warms up a bit for the weekend, I'm planning to do some work in DDs garden on Saturday afternoon, with my little helper. Best get on, hope everyone has a good day x
Florenceem - that's very sad, dementia is a terrible disease

There's a haze of light mist and drizzle hanging over the ground. Today I'm off south to my hairdresser for cut and colour, though she does the cut first. It's always a calm time, she and her husband are very zen. It's a long'ish journey but worth it.Yesterday I managed to find belly pork again so that'll get roasted when I get home, I can taste it already. Whilst my cleaner was here I went to a little cafe for lunch where I had a bowl of spring greens with wild garlic pesto, their own bread a wee bowl of chips. I could have just had the chips alone, I don't know what they do to them but they are delicious. At the next table was a well-known TV presenter with a group of friends. They all looked so rough after an obviously boozy the night before.Laptop still needs some things set up. Yesterday I couldn't get into the JL site, tried two different browsers, then used the old one and got straight in. There'll be a setting which needs tweaking somewhere.@Scarlet - going to old houses is such a great day out. My best was Dumfries House.@SuffolkSue - a good cleaner will love to help tidy up, especially if you're laid up.@Chrisca - enjoy the housework, it makes your house work!@DP1 - oh, love a first aid course. All those bandages which need rolling are fab. Perhaps bandaging isn't done anymore.I've done a woollen wash and it's now on the airer upstairs. The drive down to Campbeltown wouldn't be as scenic today, I suspect that Arran will be invisible today.9

Morning all. Sunny here but so cold.
DD's KIT day isn't happening so no need for me to drive over and do childcare today. Instead I need to finish the ironing and go to the bank to get a new electronic card thingy for my account.
I also have a friend with dementia, early 70s age, and she is now living apart from her husband in a Care Home. She lives a few hours away but we did manage to see her last summer and will hopefully pop in when we're next in the area.
Hope everyone has a good day.9 -
Morning all, a fine sunny day today but the van needed the screen defrosting before DH set off, but rain forecast later.I didn't post yesterday, DGS stayed over and we had to get him to school. It meant he could have longer in bed after we went to the match the previous night, rather than DS2 having a late start to work. Took me back about 6 years before DS had bought his house & still lived with us so the children were here half the time
I always used to make up a story on his way to school & reminded him so he said he'd tell us one as he had an English comprehension task at school. He's got a very good imagination!
After that DH dropped me off at the bus station to catch one for the Trafford centre. The one going was quite a torturous route coupled with roadworks delays so took ages. I wanted to go and look in the MnS, (huge) but they still didnt have the jeans I wanted, just got some bits from the food hall, ambled to the other end to JLewis and had a lovely coffee. I got a different bus going back which was much pleasanter once past the city area. I was pleased with myself as it was a bit out of my comfort zone to go that far,, softy that I am. I'd already done a big batch of mince so we had some of that for tea, need to freeze the rest. The kitchen needs a bit of a tidy today, mainly male caused! For now I need a coffee. Hope you can all enjoy your day.Nan thinking of you x

Morning folks and thanks GERS. It was a lovely, but frosty, start here and they say the wind has finally dropped. Sadly light rain is forecast for later.
I managed to get the back tidied up as best I could yesterday. It was the usual stop start job thanks to my uncooperative legs. The top part looks a lot better but sadly the patio doesn't. It's showing its age (like me!) and nothing improves the look of it. There were a few plants showing no sign of life so they got tipped into the brown wheelie. I now have a row of empty pots lined up waiting to be filled. Some from the dead perennials and others from last year's bedding.
The front garden is next when I feel up to it, and when it's not windy, cold or raining! It might be waiting for some time!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones, sad or lonely. NAN thinking of you today and I hope the news is good and no further intervention is needed. Take care all and stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"6 -
