Paid holiday pay after my P45 and paid tax :(

I wonder if anyone has had a similar problem and can advise or knows a little bit about it?
I worked part time for a small nursery and recently handed in my notice with no plans to find employment elsewhere (lucky I know!). I received my P45 ok, stating my leaving date. However, the following month I received a payslip and my holiday pay. On this my payslip my tax code was OT and I have paid £116.40 tax. Even when I was working I did not work enough hours to pay tax and have not earned anywhere near the tax freepay I am entitled to. My tax code before my P45 was issued was 1256L. I am not of retirement age yet so will not be claiming any pension.
I have looked on the HMRC website for a form P50 but because it was paid in March, it is counted as being paid last year and advises that, if I think I have paid too much tax I will get a letter by November and if not, to get in touch.
Firstly, I really don't want to wait until November for this money back as it should not have been paid. Secondly, I am not sure I believe they will get in touch as I will not be in employment which will trigger a new tax code.
Any advice would be appreciated. I am out of my depth when it comes to HMRC and find it quite scary! TIA

Try ringing them at 8 am when the offices open as hopefully you'll get through quicker. I've been fortunate that I've always talked to someone who was kind and understood that many of us are not tax accountants. So helpful and slow in explaining things (in a good way) and happy to repeat it slowly again so I could understand. One even called me back to mention something she'd forgotten to say on the call.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. Sounds to me like you might have crossed a National Insurance threshold for weekly earnings. If that’s the case then I don’t think you will be due any money back.

0T is the tax code an employer must use if making a payment after the P45 has been issued, they have done nothing wrong apart from beeing keen with the P45. HMRC will sort it out by the end of the year, one of the pitfalls of leaving / changing employments at the very end of the tax year.
