Changing Main Driver

Last year my wife bought a car and the V5C and owner is her. This year I would be the main driver, do we need to change the V5C? Or just put my name as main driver when we renew car insurance?
We don't mind to lost 1 year NCD.

Just change who the main driver is... double check with the insurer in question if the policyholder or the main driver has to supply the NCD as it does vary a bit with the norm being the policyholder. Dont want to be charged an admin fee etc if you say you have 1 years NCD and they then advise its in the wrong name.0
