I'm really sorry for those of you who have had poor "Man with a Van" removal experiences.  I had an excellent experience.  Lockdown was imminent in March 2020 nd I had to move within two days.  It was a huge rush.  I telelphoned a "Man with a Van" listed in the local newspaper.  He was finishing for lockdown at midday the next day and said that he could come at 11 a.m.

He arrived promptly and had a young man, aged about 18) to help him.  Everything went well and the price was very reasonable - they even insisted, owing to imminent lockdown,  on taking me in the van with them.  On arrival they moved everything in and offered to move things to the most suitable place for me - reminding me that lockdown meant that I would not be able to go out and no one would be able to come in.  Their tip was very well deserved.

I learned, afterwards, that the "Man with a Van" was well known locally and had a very good reputation.

When the engineer from Openreach came to connect my telephone, from outside, he too was extremely helpful.  Once he had connected my telephone he asked if I needed anything from the local shop before he left.  I was so grateful for the excellent help I received just as lockdown became effective.

I have back pain too, so loading boxes into the car just wipes me out, even if it’s just a small job. Last time I moved, I knew there was no way I could handle all the heavy lifting without paying for it with pain for days. I hired a moving company that handled everything: they packed, loaded, and set up my stuff at the new place while I just directed where to put things. Honestly, it was worth every penny compared to trying to do it myself. If you want a service that takes care of everything and has fair pricing, you can check out Three Movers. They’re really clear about what they offer and have flexible services, especially if you need more support for the heavy work.
