Adding wireless to wired only device

Theres already devices attached for streaming from a phone/laptop etc, just want to revisit using Tidal Connect now they've brought their "HiFi" subscription down; the streaming devices dont support the maximum rates that Tidal offer (not actually sure what the AVR supports either but for other things its higher than the firestick or appletv)SurferDan said:If you just want to stream music from your phone (for example) a mini bluetooth receiver plugged into a spare pair of line level inputs will do the job.0 -

Cheapest option I can think of to add the functions you want is the Wiim Mini £89:-

Thanks for the suggestion, the WiiM has a decoding rate no better than the existing streaming devices. Would need to be the Pro Plus to get support for 192 kHz/24-bit which is far too much to spend on an experiment on if Tidal Connect is worth the extra and wouldn't give digital control over the amp (which is the residual benefit of getting wifi working on it if I decide Tidal isn't worth it)SurferDan said:Cheapest option I can think of to add the functions you want is the Wiim Mini £89:-

I know you said you can't use a cable, but you can get thin flat ethernet cables that are easy to hide/pass under carpet/jam under skirting board now (I'm amazed that they work tbh, but I've transferred files at 100MB/s- gigabit speed up them, so the 100Mb that most kit uses is fine)I'm using one to connect the radio on the shelf, it squeezes in the gap between shelf and wall and you can't see it.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

I find that power line is surprisingly good even if the sockets are on different ring mains. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

They were ok when I used them in the last place, not great though. They'd have worked for what I want here but the router is beside a cabinet and no room at plug or 4bar to fit one and SWMBO isn't going to allow a visible extension lead just to have power lines for just my amp0
