Assisting with tax through gov gateway

I have helped my elderly mother register an online tax account and she has requested me to be able to help her with her tax affairs via the online service. I have received an email from HMRC informing me of the request but when I log in to my own account I can’t find any messages or links to actually accept the request. Any ideas on where the request will be displayed?

According to gov.in the person you are helping has to accept your registration - has that been done?
"The person you’re helping must then use the service to accept your registration. If they cannot go online, you may be able to call HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) on their behalf. They must be in the same room when you call."
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
My mum can go online and accept the registration once I have acknowledged the request, but all I have is an email asking me to log in to gov gateway and accept the request from my mum. When I log in there is no obvious way to see and acknowledge her request.0

If you have her login details, all she would need to do is send you the text code when you login for her.Not the best way to do it but would work short term.0

I eventually discovered the request is hidden in the personal details area where you actually request someone else to help with your tax. If you click that link it takes you to a page displaying the third party request to allow you to help them. Completely counter intuitive
They really should have an outstanding action link on the login or summary page. Anyway I hope this helps those that have the same issue.4
