Travel Insurance

Just about to book travel insurance for a last minute 4 day holiday to Spain. The flight coming home is due to land at birmingham at 12.00 midnight though. If there was a flight delay - no matter how small - if it takes us after midnight I assume we wouldn’t be covered if anything was to happen during the flight and it was after midnight, or would we?

Best check with travel insurance provider. I've often wondered about this as any flight home could be delayed and tip you over to the next day1

its an odd one isnt it because i wouldnt even think about it if the flight was due to land at say 9.00 pm and was then delayed0

Forgot to say its an extra £30.00!!0

I asked Avanti travel insurance about this some time ago as some friends who were on holiday in Madeira had their flight delayed by 3 days due to crosswinds meaning planes couldn't take off or land. Also if youve got a joint policy what happens if one of you gets ill and can't fly home on due date does that mean neither of you are covered if you go over that date. The response didn't really give me the answer I wanted0

Check with the insurer, but often they continue to cover you when the situation is beyond your control. First google of the issue came up with this one:

Sometimes an annual policy can end up better value (and obviously means you don’t have to worry so much about exact dates)1
