Hi All

I have had a another joke of a fine at Aldi Kingsbury, I was a customer and entered my car reg in their machine , but they still sent me a fine letter  , I have had this issue at the same location a few years ago and writing to Aldi customer service and online appealing to PE resolved the issue , but to even gather the papers write to them and Aldi and compose the letter via this wonderful forum takes time , time which I don't have as a lot going on in my work / personal life.

I want to know if I can send them a £10 admin fee to as result of wasting my time,  if anyone has been successful in doing that  can you please share a template , I know Chrisy Morris did call them on his youtube channel but looks more like a windup attempt rather than a genuine query , I suffer genuinely due to this loss of time as I have care duties as well as professional commitments

Contact Aldi HO Parking Department. Send them a copy of your receipt for your shopping that day. Send copies of other previous receipts/cc/bank statements as proof of regular patronage.

PE will not accept a £10 admin charge. In fact it tacitly suggests some degree of liability on your part. Don't go there.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

On what basis do you think you can charge them for your time? Unless you have some form of contract or agreement in place, you don't have a leg to stand on.

    That'll be £7.50 please.

    Hi all

I already emailed Aldi and appealed online to PE with receipt ,

@nopcns on the basis that we are genuine customers and having to write letters and gather evidence and digitally filing all these just for shopping shouldn't be part of the customer experience.

Anyways as suggested I won't go there I just want them to stop annoying me.

Obviously anyone can attempt to invoice anyone for anything; that's effectively what they're doing to you. Whether it would stand up in court is another matter.

I do find it quite fun to send such people a letter thanking them for engaging my premium correspondence services stating a schedule of charges for various types of communication. Another fun addition is to formally remove their implied right of access to your property (should they wish to knock on your door or post a letter through it) and detailing a charge for doing so.

Although it's unlikely that you would be able to enforce such charges, I have a weird feeling that it might bother the scammers because it uses the same kind of logic that their business model relies on.

Back in reality you would only be likely to receive compensation for your lost time and expenses if you make a successful counter claim in court and the judge finds the PPC to have acted in an 'unreasonable' way. It occasionally happens but mostly not.

Unlike a contract for parking on private land where it is entered into by "conduct" (subject to certain conditions), a written agreement for services such as charging for responding to correspondence has to be agreed to by signing an agreement between the parties.

That's another £7.50. Please PM your address details so that I can send you my invoice and, if necessary, serve you with a Letter of Claim.

got the following fine canalled letter from Parking Eye once I sent in receipt...

    Dear Sir / Madam,
We are writing in relation to the Parking Charge incurred on DD MMM YYYY at hh:mm, at
    ALDI Kingsbury car park.
We would like to confirm that this charge has now been cancelled and there is no
    outstanding payment due.
We understand that receiving a Parking Charge Notice may be inconvenient, however,
issuing Parking Charges for breaches of the parking terms and conditions at this car park
is necessary to ensure a better overall parking experience for all users of the facilities.
To avoid potential future inconvenience, we would kindly request you follow the parking
terms and conditions displayed on the signage throughout the car park.
    Yours faithfully,

    Parkingeye Team

    Thanks for the update!

I find their template cancellation shallow and tone deaf to the effect on honest people of an unsolicited rip-off pseudo-legal 'PCN' (invoice) landing on the doormat, demanding extortionate money for the heinous crime of shopping at a supermarket.

The shock of a PCN is far more than "inconvenient".
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Good it was cancelled.  The problem Parking Eye has is their signs, tiny terms and conditions you need binoculars to read and ... high up on posts

On this alone, Parking Eye need to get their act together

I agree @Coupon-mad it takes time and effort to find the receipts and write back to them and also the shock of receiving an unjust fine.
