Admiral car insurance and car competitions?
I'm thinking about entering my car into a Motorsport championship, fairly novice stuff but reading through my insurance book is a little concerning, they won't pay out for damage caused by competition (no problem there) but they say they reserve the right to cancel your insurance for not following their general exclusions (which Motorsport is one of them), is this only applicable if I try to make a claim on the policy for damage sustained in a race or does admiral out-right restrict you from entering into any motorsports while insured with them even if you know you can't claim?

I guess the issue is just because you don't have a crash at a motorsport, it doesn't mean that the car may not incur damage which results in a crash on a road at a later date - I would presume wear and tear on brakes etc could contribute to a crash - so they are covering themselves.0

Ask them...
TBH, I'd be surprised if Admiral were even remotely competitive once you'd declared the mods to the car. You'd likely be FAR better off with a specialist broker.0 -
They outright restrict you from entering any motorsport. In the same way they might not offer cover to someone who works as actor because of the risk profile it implies. As above, surely the race series requires at least some modifications to compete which will be a red flag to Admiral.0

Some motorsport is early always allowed.
Navigational Rallies, some 12 car road events etc.
Most of those are with a basic Clubman Licence, and many require no compulsory mods to the car at all.
However - if you are contemplating off- road Forest Rallies, circuit racing, or even a visit to the Nurburgring then you need special insurance.
See a broker - the cost may change your mind.
You'll also likely to need a higher rated competition licence and possibly a medical.
Motorsport is not cheap.0 -
