Am I entitled to see an engineer's report
If an engineer had attended my property to fix an issue, am I entitled to see the report?
I have been told I'm not as it may contain commercially sensitive information or person identifiable information. I've gone back and said that information can be redacted but I am still denied this.
I've raised a DSAR and received a response saying that if I am unwilling to resolve an issue with them, I should think about taking this to the ombudsman.
Am I entitled to see the engineers report?
Are they allowed to restrict me from seeing this?

What sort of engineers report? Who paid for it.
As an aside a DSAR is not relevant to the ombudsman - it's data so they have to comply with the request of face a hefty fine from the ICO - up to I think 8% of the organisations global turnover.
Who is the organisation?1 -
Just found it £17.5M or 4% of global turnover - whichever is higher ( that the max obviously ) which is why every company that understands data requests complies.0

What personal information about you do you think would make a DSAR relevant.
There is a mistaken belief that a DSAR entitles you to see the contents of every document that has your name on it.5 -
Electricity company
It was for an issue with my smart meter0 -
You mean THEIR meter.JamesMckk said:Electricity company
It was for an issue with my smart meterThe electricity company commissioned an engineer to prepare a report on their own meter. You have absolutely no rights (IMHO).Of course if their meter has been found to be faulty and the readings are in question then I would expect them to share the outcome and consequential remedy with you.1 -
What if it's related to billing tho? Such as they'd been overcharging.cannugec5 said:

I'm afraid the consumer has to provide their own evidence (they could pay for their own report) and if the supplier does not sort the issue, take that evidence to the energy ombudsman who should intervene.BobT36 said:

OP really needs to ask the question behind the question if they want any further help.0
