My Debt Detox

Prodigal50 said:Hi!
I really like Dave Ramsey and his approach to things for the most part. One of the things he talks about is that idea of 'affordable debt'. As you say it's a strange thing to think about debt being affordable. It's actually giving people who went to sell us stuff our money before we have even had the chance to earn it. Sometimes I think if I could say "F it" to the people who are happy to see me go into debt to make them rich that would be a help! :-)
I wish you all the very best!
I'm currently having Capital One call me daily. Lloyds eerily quiet. It unnerves me. I've blocked the number for Capital One but they leave voicemails (automated) which pop up without the phone ringing. Not too bad on the letter front at the moment, though.

That's a tough situation but as others have said things will get better and you seem to have a plan. You are not alone.

Hi everyone, just an update on my situation.
I've now missed 3 payments (April, May, June) and everything is much the same. I've had minimal letter's really, maybe one a month from both creditors.
Capital One still call me daily and leave the automated voicemails.
No emails recieved at all.
The money pot is filling up. I'm worried about how to afford repayments when the debts default, but I guess a budget adjustment will be needed.
I feel a little less scared about a life without credit. I feel sad that things like home improvements etc which I planned to take a loan out to do will no longer be a viable option for me. But I guess its one of those things, and I can survive without.
All going to plan so far...hope everyone is okay.1 -
Hey.
Taking action here is the right thing to do. Focus on what you have, and look at cheaper home improvements for the time being.
