Morning all
This waking up early is getting silly now. 4.30am this morning grrrrr
Oh well the bonus is this thread is ready and waiting for any other early riser lol
Today I'm going to a large shopping centre for a mooch round, I've a gift card to spend if anything takes my fancy. Before that I've got my breadmaker out of it's cubby hole and am going to set off a cheese and bacon loaf before I go out. The smell coming back should be lovely
Hope you all have a good day x

Morning All
Absolutely pouring down this morning but I can see a bit of blue sky peeking through, hope it improves. I'm fed up with rain now!
Productive day yesterday, a few 'little' jobs done, jam made and bag packed for today's new term. Washing was dried inside, just the quilt cover to air off on the bannister.
We now have to pay for our brown bin to be emptied (garden/food waste) and was looking at getting a hotbin - does anyone have one?
Goodness Coxy, that looks grim. Hope you're safe and dry.
Happy Monday, take care. XX12 -
Morning, thanks for stsrting us off @Chrisca. Enjoy your browsing. After the sun came out yesterday it swiftly disappeared again. Then the rain came. It pittered, then it pattered, turned into piddling and finally poured down the rest of the day and all night. Really nasty for a lot of the time.@taff - you mentioned air fryer which not only got me thinking but sent me down a rabbit hole. I've always resisted them despite friends and family telling me how wonderful they are. I can't see the advantages, big and bulky and really ugly. Anyway, I spent too long looking at them online. Cheap, expensive, reviews, nine ways of cooking, two drawers versus one drawer, disposable inserts, special tongs and so on. Boggling! In the end I decided that I really don't need one and really don't want one, but I enjoyed the research. 😀
This morning I'm going to the exercise class. That's about it!@TA - I hope that your DS got everything to put his house right. It's so depressing to think that his place in such a state. Would he be allowed to do regular inspections next time. I've read about them on the housing board but not sure of the circumstances of them.@Izzy - happy birthday to your son. Was there cake?
@Coxy - 😱😱 you're brave! What a nightmare. Our fields are sodden but not under so much water since last October.I wish everyone a lovely day.12 -
Hi all
Seems I didn’t manage to post at the weekend, it was a blur of power washing, lawn mower repairing (unsuccessful) , lawn mowing (borrowed neighbour’s) and other outside stuff. Weather was lovely. Just as well as today it’s back to rain and a yellow wind warning,Still can’t smell or taste but the GP said it might take some weeks, still cooking though it’s difficult when you can’t taste things, or smell them burning!Back to part time work today - plenty to do there too as gearing up for busy time.Coxy wow! Please take care, you never know what’s under the water, lifted drain covers are the most dangerous. Guess you can only do that on your last day! Well done though, you’ve made huge progress this session.Take care all

Morning folks and thanks CHRISCA for the early start. It's a bit of a worry that nmlc has disappeared so suddenly, I hope all is ok. Similar weather to others today. Early heavy rain gave way to sunshine and blue sky, which sadly is now disappearing again. That dratted gusty wind is back and here to stay all day. This weather is really getting me down now.
COXY I seemed to miss your photo yesterday so have just looked back and found it. Crikey you are made of sterner stuff than me wading through that! Loved your photo too IZZY, aren't peacocks the most beautiful birds. Shame about the noise they make though! Quite some years ago we stayed in a Cumbrian hotel with two resident peacocks. We certainly didn't need alarm clocks!
GERS DS's house was let through a letting agency who, allegedly, did annual house checks. I think he should sue them, the state his house was left in didn't occur overnight. Needless to say he won't be using them again! The lovely next door neighbour came round yesterday morning whilst he was there and said he was so relieved to see the back of the tenant from hell. Apparently they had two big dogs and he never saw them getting taken for walks. So that would account for the smell. How she got away with keeping two children in that mess I have no idea. DS sounds less stressed by it all now and he and his DP are just plodding on when time permits and says they will get there eventually!
No plans for today so probably another day of same old same old. A toss up between time wasting or pottering! Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, poorly loved ones, sad or lonely. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning everyone
The sun is shining here but the wind is blowing and forecast to get stronger. Yesterday was a weird day of sunshine and very heavy showers.
Little one stayed on Saturday night, yesterday morning we went down to mam and dads, then, after lunch, she spent time dressing up , while I did my ironing. I 'found' 3 purple checked summer dresses for school in my box upstairs so I ironed them and put her name in ready for when it, hopefully, gets warm enough to wear them.
DD picked her up and I had a lovely couple of hours with my Sunday Times and then a nice long chat with DD in Germany.
Back to work today, but not till lunchtime - I'm still just doing my 4 afternoons, though I also have a day long first aid course this week too.
Coxy that was some puddle!
Izzy I love peacocks - there were 2 at the city farm we took little one to in London - she was fascinated by them.
Gers I have an air fryer and use it a lot, it saves putting the oven on when I'm just cooking for myself. There's a new Jamie Oliver programme on this week, cooking in an air fryer. They are quite big but mine matches my microwave and I have decent sized work tops so it doesn't really look ugly.
Right better get my packed lunch made. Hope everyone has a good day today x9 -
Morning all
Its turned quite cold here this morning and I really struggled to get out of my warm bed, Rob is back today thank goodness I have missed him, I think we will get the dogs out for a walk this morning and then do some baking this afternoon when we are due more rain.
The roast beef was lovely yesterday really tasty and there is some left for another night during the week maybe with mash and peas.I got us some new lovely quality bedding I always have good bedding but went up a notch with this lot it is so comfortable and cosy to sleep in so well worth the extra I think.
Coxy 😳 gosh that’s some extreme walking ! You take care xx
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Morning all.
Gers - thanks for the help. Had a look but can't see a red cross.
IzzyBee - the peacock is magnificent.

Morning all. I didn't sleep very well last night as I was again too hot and I'm all in a tizz this morning as the black blouse I was going to wear to Uncle's funeral tomorrow is full of white bits and I have no idea where they have come from. I've tried everything to remove them but no luck so it's in the wm as a last resort and fingers crossed it will be ok. If it's no good I may have to wear something else even if it's got bright flowers or keep my coat on as I'm limited to wearing loose clothing at present, but at least I will turn up in something and not do a Lady Godiva !
I have managed to iron Mr Fix It's shirt and trousers this morning and he's cut his beard in a rustic fashion 😳
The new mattress duly arrived on Friday and unusually we were first delivery, we're normally last. It's taking a bit of getting used to but my king size sheets don't fit well as it's much deeper than the old one, so I need to go up a size. I've also got to climb up onto it, it's like climbing Everest for me ( shorty🤣)
Izzy I have a painting of a peacock done for me by DD above my fireplace, I love them but I agree they are very noisy.
Coxy Oh goodness what a walk ! I'd have to try to swim that as it would probably be up under my armpits 😂
Gers I have an air fryer too and I wouldn't be without it. It's the Ninja one that looks like a Cyberman's head. I don't have much workspace but it's been worth it and used frequently.
Take care all
nan xx
