Conveyancing solicitor checks - Structural Warranty

I am in the process of buying a new build property from a small local builder.  As part of the conveyancing solicitor checks, I understand that they will check the Lenders Handbook to make sure the Broker is listed (assumption most insurance is arranged through a broker).  

But, is that all they have the responsibility to check?  Should the solicitor look at the actual insurance policy, see you the actual insurer is, and check them out for FCA and or FSCS and or financial checks?  (Alpha insurance went bust in 2018 and caused problems for home owners who we without structural warranty). 

Just try to understand what is reasonable for a solicitor to check for.

    There is no central list of ‘acceptable’ warranty providers. It is up to individual lenders to decide whether to accept a warranty from a particular provider based on their own assessment. Individual lenders set out which warranty provider they accept in section 6.7.1 of the Handbooks for England and Wales,

    Who is the warranty from? If it's a recognised name then that usually means no further enquiries are necessary.

    The warranty is from HomeProof.  https://www.awlhomeproof.com/ They are listed on the Lenders Handbook by a long list of mortgage providers.

    A 10 year structrual warranty isn't an investment though.
