Hi everyone
We are looking to get some work done in our house, mainly in the kitchen. We want to have the existing counter tops removed and replaced, the doors and drawers on the existing storage units replaced (so keeping the overall structure of the units but just replacing the fronts with new drawers and new doors), a bespoke freestanding storage unit created, two new cupboards installed around the extractor fan which would be replaced, and a belfast sink installed (we already have this and the fittings for it), and some tiling over the new counter tops on the walls.
In addition to this work, we have a couple of wooden sash windows elsewhere in the house that we would like to have repainted.
We have been quoted for the following:
New Oak Worktops (220cm by 60cm by 4cm, and 225cm by 60cm by 4cm) oiled and installed
Butler sink installed and plumbed etc
Create a shelf for the Butler sink to go on
Install two kitchen wall units, including end panels and cornice which would be built around the extractor vent (these are mid-range, pre-made, with an approx size of 50cm by 50cm by 30cm each)
Install new extractor
Install new bespoke free-standing unit (105cm by 100cm by 30cm)
Install new doors and drawer fronts (total area for these is approx 70cm by 60cm for the drawers and 70cm by 100cm for the doors) with handles included
Tiling in the kitchen (two areas - 220cm by 50cm and 150cm by 50cm)
Painting and decoration of the windows
The estimate does not include the tiles themselves which we would need to supply, grout, tile trims or any decoration of the units in the kitchen (apart from the counter which will be oiled)
The quote we have been given is £8330 plus VAT, making it £9996 in total.
I have tried getting additional quotes but we have not been able to get many - either the tradesperson was unavailable, or they did not do all of the things we wanted to have done so just wanted a rough idea of how reasonable what we have been quoted is. The guy who has quoted us is a local small business and is recommended in many of the local Facebook groups etc and I would like to use a local business if at all possible.

What area of the country do you live in ? it will make a difference.ITS NOT EASY TO GET EVERYTHING WRONG ,I HAVE TO WORK HARD TO DO IT!0
