skyscanner- what's the point?

skyscanner could be such a good site but it is so frustrating to go onto it and discover that the flight prices quoted are often up to five days old !

prices change frequently so surely it can't be that hard to update prices more often

pull your socks up skyscanner people !!

Learn to use the site before complaining, there is always the option on selecting flights to update to the current time and price. I use the site frequently and never have a problem getting correct pricing !

  • oh dear ! there's always one !!

of course you can get the up to date price eventually !

that's not the issue -can you imagine going to a site advertising a nintendo wii for a bargain price then when you go to purchase it you discover that was last weeks price and now it's £50 dearer !!

Develope your own better one then ! With a name like whizzkid, you could probably knock one up during your lunch break.

I tend to use these things as an INDICATOR and think skyscanner is good..Prices can vary, even just by the no of people you are booking. ie the price for 1 may be 99p but for 2 it could be £9.99 each
  • i think we are going to have to agree to disagree.

my point is that it shouldn't be difficult to update screen prices at least on a daily basis .

instead of moaning on here then why not e-mail them to suggest how to do it?

Skyscanner prices are normally updated BY people doing searches. That's how Skyscanner works. If they used bots to keep on getting prices all the time, most of the flight websites would probably ban Skyscanner's IP address(es) for pointlessly loading their servers.

Like other posters said, if you don't like it, don't use it. Either that or develop your own website and webapp to do what you want it to do.

Also, It doesn't search flights to Cuba.

There are some places it doesn't search for flights to. They have only recently started covering flights outside Europe. Are there any charter flights to Cuba from the UK? Skyscanner mainly/only search charter flights.

    They are a UK company.

  • A useful one would be Goa, but some holiday companies like Thomson make it difficult to do deep linking into their own site.

That'll be the 'Goa' that is correctly listed on Skyscanner under 'India' then? :D
