Hi I've been quoted £750 to replace the clutch on my Toyota Aygo is this a fair price please?

That seems a touch high to me, but not outrageous. I was mostly quoted around £500-600 for a Peugeot 207 clutch, with the highest quote being £1000.

A clutch kit for an Aygo can be had for well under £100. Around 4 hours labour. £750 sounds like a main dealer price, you should be able to get it done for under £500 at an independent. For comparison, you can get a new clutch for a Porsche Boxster at a good independent for £750, although a lot depends on where you are in the country. Much higher prices in the south east.

If it's the manual gearbox that sounds high, however if it's the MMT then in the ball park.

Some garages will allow you to buy the clutch kit and some will not. The cheapest no name will be about £40 but an OEM like blue print £125 on ebay. This will affect the price, but you are not just paying for a days labour. You are also paying for experience and tools.

If a mechanic has done a bad job with other cars they are likely to give a discount. A quicker and cheaper job may be torque settings that will need to be checked are ignored? The mechanic would have to Google them whereas a dealer will have better tools and be more used to working on Toyota cars. And have all details at hand.
