What a night it was here, suddenly the winds went wild and heavy rain lashed down and around, it all raged for about three hours. Very weird. My nail appointment was good yesterday. The young woman I go to does it in a sort of shed in her parent's garden, all insulated and heated and well set out. She's very enterprising and has a great social life without being wild. I've gone back to having clear BIAB rather than the rather odd 'natural' colour called Dolly.Today I have the pool session which I'm looking forward to, it does me good. Later I'll make some more soup and hope it turns out as tasty as the last lot. No other plans yet.@DP1 - those four years have whizzed past like a flash. I remember how unwell the little one was and how you all helped her come through. No wonder you are proud of her.Hugs all round.11

Morning All
Rough night here too Gers but it's not raining at the moment and the wind has died down.
I went to bed really early last night, finished the book I was reading and slept well but am struggling to get going this morning! I'll go and collect the little one in a while, last library visit today, yesterday was hyacinths in a pot made from pipe cleaners and today is rock painting. If the weather is ok we'll walk down as I could do with some fresh air, yesterday's relentless rain made me feel hemmed in.
Whilst the little one was playing yesterday I cleaned my bedroom - the wooden floor holds all the dust bunnies - I think they had been breeding!
Hope everyone is well and you have a good day, take care. XX10 -
Morning everyone well we are supposed to be dry until later today let’s see Gers I had my nails done for my sons wedding and I said I was going to continue I never got round to it you have made me think I have some strengthening stuff I will start putting it on and get them in some sort of order . DP1 I also remember how poorly little one once and how brave she has been she definitely keeps you entertained she’s like a ray of sunshine. I am going to get my bedding outside in a minute and paint the garden bench we can stand it in the garage overnight until it dries off .Camelot I know what you mean about feeling hemmed in I can’t believe there’s anymore water left in the sky I’m sick of opening the curtains on a morning and looking at rain we have a cricket field out of the back of us they will be able to swim across it before they are able to play cricket on it . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

It’s dry here too, and supposed to stay that way. Just trying to keep B-dog quiet as the window cleaners are here and he is constantly grumbling at them. Also waiting for a call back from the GP regarding my loss of taste/smell now 3 weeks (I know lots of people have had it for longer related to Covid but will see what they say) - we are very lucky with an award-winning practice; only took me 10 minutes to get through and I will get a Dr call back this morning.Once that’s all done I’ll be able to go dog walking. And I might (only might…….) start jet washing the huge amount of slabs we have - I can only do an hour or so at a time as it irritates my shoulder so it’ll be a few sessions work but is very green and horrid looking and I really need to start getting the garden in some semblance of order DF and DM aren’t able to do as much. That’s all folks - have a good Thursday

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Allegedly it is going to be fine and warm today, until the rain is back tonight.
Going nowhere today so a day of same old same old in store. I might attempt a bit of on and off weeding of the front garden today but it gets more difficult year on year. I wish there was an odd job garden tidy-upper hereabouts but sadly only "proper" gardeners charging the earth. A friend recently got an estimate of £700 for the initial tidy, followed by a monthly tidy at silly money. Of course she said no thanks and the search goes on.
A nice day out in Skipton yesterday but a disappointing lunch at an alternative venue. Other than lunch the only other spend was a pair of slippers reduced to half price. I needed a new pair to leave at the caravan as my old ones seem to have disappeared over winter!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx

Morning all. Dry so far here.
Yesterday's trip to MK Museum was good; it's an excellent place for children, with lots for them to do. A lot of local history and artefacts but they also have a large room with just old telephones, a couple of telephone exchanges etc so plenty of opportunities to have fun using the phones. The only thing I found a little strange was when the lady on the admissions desk tried to give DH and I a joint season ticket; your entrance fee covers you for return visits for a year. When asked she changed it to 2 individual ones luckily.
Today we are using the last of DH's Tesco Rewards vouchers to have lunch out at a Prezzo and then I'll be packing and making my way up to Harrogate for the night; my overnight stop en route to Hawes. Must check the weather forecast for up there but I bet it will say rain!
Hope you all have a good day.10 -
Hello all, it's dry here too after all the heavy rain yesterday. We were out yesterday ( and got wet) to go to our fav GC where we had a fabulous lunch as always. The car park was almost full but hardly anyone was in the shop, they were all in the restaurant, it was heaving ! We left with full tummies but I also had a headache from all the chatter, it seemed so noisy after my quiet house ! I didn't buy anything but Mr Fix It bought a pair of gloves to use when hitching up the van, he's lost one of his last pair. We called in at the meat van, then the GP surgery to drop off a script before returning home.
Today Mr Fix It has a date with the vampire nurse and I want to sort/ tidy our bedroom especially the bottom of the wardrobe which looks like the aftermath of a really busy jumble sale. I should really be decluttering too. I did find a long fluffy dressing gown the other day which I'd forgotten about, so I'll wear that one while my other is being washed.
taff hope the itching has abated.
WL enjoy your trip.
Take care all
