Legal & General to Reassure - Lost Policy

Hi I have recently found that I have a fund that was previously with L&G and I believe was passed on the ReAssure as part of the pension book.
ReAssure cannot locate it
I have sent them all the details that I have
L&G cannot confirm that they did
ReAssure cant find it
Did anyone else have this issue?
What are my next steps?
TIA

My first step would be to assume that it wasn't transferred, so ask L&G to confirm the details of the policy that they hold for you.If they can't confirm either that they hold it or they transferred it, or give you some other explanation then given you have documentary evidence of the pension, raise a formal complaint with them. If they don't resolve the complaint within 8 weeks, then escalate.0

Sounds like Reassure need pressing and must look harder.
Get your proofs in order it was not ever refunded. (short service/other terms).
An annual statement significantly post the relevant employment ending would do that nicely.
Absence of statements after that doesn't prove much either way - but is indicative that it "could" have happened. A closed account doesn't write to you. But neither do all pension administrators sadly or not to the correct contact info.
Check also it was not transferred into one of your other schemes as you moved job to job.
And is just a stray record of a long closed account.
Sadly you need to look at other schemes to check that.
Websites are often unhelpful in this regard even if the other schemes have some better data in the back. Cheap nasty IT. So may have to speak to them or work it out from statement values and contribution rates and time. "Something about this many thousand must have come in other than payroll contributions to get to that value at the end of that (first) year. Is that about the same as I saved at the other one". Rough and ready - depends what records you have. Probabilities.
It can only be one of a few things for a pension wrapper: Refunded, transferred, you died, accessed the pension (but not old enough), or it still exists but is mislaid and they need a hard push to find it.
Ducks in a row on the others then press them to chase it down - even if the computer doesn't show you on the index after a good go at aliases, address history and all that.

Was this the 2020 transfer? This was done as a Part VII transfer and as such if you were part of it you would have received a number of letters and emails to confirm you are part of the transferring business?
There is only two ways this sort of business can be transferred, either a group sells a whole legal entity in which case the regulators approve the transfer of the company and you remain part of ABC just ABC's shareholders change or its a Part VII transfer under FSMA in which case the High Court has to approve the transfer and impacted customers have to be communicated to and invited to raise any objects and/or attend the court case.0 -
The OP appears to have started two threads on the same subject.0
