Hello,
I recently bought a Wowcher voucher for a restaurant deal. I tried to book the restaurant today but when I told them I was using a Wowcher they refused to take the booking. They said that they had stopped taking Wowchers as the company was not paying them. I am currently trying to get my money back from Wowcher but am quite fed up by the whole episode...

Join the list of people realising that these "deals" aren't always what they seem.dav964 said:Hello,

What have you actually bought? A voucher for that one and only restaurant, or a voucher that can be used at various restaurants or perhaps at a chain? If it's the latter, you probably have no recourse because you got what you paid for: a voucher. And I suspect the terms say something about checking acceptance at certain times or locations.
If it was a voucher for that particular restaurant, speak to your card provider to see if they can help.
In future, just pay for things with real money. These "deals" are often more trouble than they're worth, for many reasons. Often not transferable, they have expiry dates, they are limited to certain times or locations, they break the link between consumer and retailer so your rights are reduced, and so on.0
