Paying twice to RAC

I discovered for the last three years I have being paying twice for breakdown cover. Once through my RAC car insurance where it is included with my policy, and I have also had a separate breakdown insurance not realising it was included with my car insurance.
So for last three years Ive paid out £120 for nothing.
Surely there system should show two policies for the same cover.
So if your renewing your AA or RAC car insurance, double check to see what it includes.
Don't pay twice because the RAC won't refund you.

what happened? did you make a complaint? did you manage to get any money back? I'm asking as I have just discovered I have done the same for last year0

Do you have exactly the same cover?
Membership through insurance can be the basic , roadside cover whereas you may have taken out a higher level of cover such as at home or recovery.0 -
I get free RAC cover because I have my car serviced at the main dealer. I also have free AA cover through my bank account. Should I expect one, or other, to give me money back? Really no different to the situation those above find themselves in.0
