Morning! On the plus side of badly behaving tenants and in the interest of fairness, I have to point out that there are some shocking landlords too. Trouble is, once you've had a bad experience with either, you tar everyone with the same brush, logical or no. I know that why we won't ever rent out again. Not much today, seeing friends this afternoon for coffee and stuff. I've booked for me and the OH to go and see Monkey Man on Thursday so that'll be a nice change. Supper was lovely last night at his mothers, she does a mean Cottage Pie wihich came with broad beans that I ate like sweeties..Love them! Although they are very marmite. The two pots I saved from the skip and put outside for free have gone, so I may put some more out of mine that I don't want. My tomatoes need potting on so that is another job over the next few days. And I'd better send a card to my cousin, it's her birthday this weekend.TA, sorry about your sons house, hopefully his insurance will cover a good chunk of it. Ruby, good luck with new neighbours1 and enjoy the week! dp1, that's so funny, your dgd writing a book on her London visit. Hopefully it can be kept for her to look back on when she's much much older
Take care all!

Good morning all
Yesterday was so cold and the wind was wicked. Today is sunny at the moment and the wind has dropped. Hopefully I'll get the washing line dried.
Thought I'd be clever and cut a few straggly bits off a tree. Only problem was the tree fought back and hit me in the eye. Very sore but thankfully didn't do any real damage. Going to buy some safety glasses before I try anything like that again.
Sorry to hear about DS's house. We had a rental property years ago and the stories I could tell. Did have a few good tenants.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.11 -
Morning all, just sitting down with a coffee. My O delivery all present and correct, apart from a can of sparkling water that seems to have got pierced in transit and leaked over some things but not spoiled anything. The lovely young man was very apologetic and said he would refund the money as we couldn't see which can had leaked. Once I'd put everything away, I weighed all 8 cans
& found the culprit - time on my hands moi
TA DH has a client /friend this happened to, took a long time to get her out & she hadn't paid rent in all that time, then friend asked DH & DS2 to get it back up to scratch but it was absolutely disgusting, cat poo in the carpets, rotting food etc they had to get a deep cleaning company in first. What was awful was she had a young child there! He seems to have done ok now, an older lady is renting. Hope DS has better luck in the future.I've been sorting more clothes for the CS, got rid of some but more to do.I expect DH home from the extension job soon as it's started raining.Tea will be something from the delivery, part of an MnS meal deal, lasagne. I don't eat pasta so I'm going to try and replicate the aubergine melanzane I had in M/cr last week.I eat this quite a lot when out, or make it but the way this one was cooked was quite different, the aubergine had a crispy coating, and soft goats cheese on top. We'll see! I have a loaf nearly ready to come out of the bm.RR hope poor Rob gets better soon.Have a good day if you can x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Afternoon all
Late one here - went with DF to an appointment with a knee surgeon - very useful and definitely worth paying for a private consultation - I know not everyone will agree and I’m not knocking the NHS as they are wonderful with DMs cancer care.Working a few hours this evening and seen as it’s raining again (🙄) I’ll try and do some craft stuff for a while. I think garden work is going to be very delayed and behind this year.AA8 -
Hello everyone
Late again! I have a good excuse - little one arrived just before 8am and great-nephew about half an hour later - he's 7. We went on the bus to Alnwick Gardens - they were delighted it was a double decker and that we got the upstairs front seats both ways. For some reason, little one kept saying we were 'sitting on the top layer of the bus' which nephew found hilarious! Lots of counting lambs, horses and cows on the journey.
We had a lovely time at the gardens and ate our lunch on swing seats in the cherry blossom orchard - the blossom is in bloom and looked beautiful. It started to rain, but just drizzle at first - it got heavier before we left but by then little one was soaked anyways - anyone who has been will know how children get so wet there! They went on inflatables, listened to a brilliant storyteller, did an egg hunt and planted 'magic' beans. It was a really lovely day - both mummies came after work to pick them up and neither wanted to go home. They left about 4 and I enjoyed a peaceful cuppa!
Now I'm going to run myself a nice bath. DD just messaged me to say little one's tubie is 4 years old today and sent a photo of her just after her operation - I remember being so worried that she would never be a 'normal' little girl -how wrong I was...it doesn't stop her doing anything.
Hope everyone has had a good day x14
