Morning Gers, morning allAnother early start for the day. Weather looking better this morning. Yesterday was dull and very windy. Was going to sow some runner beans and sweet peas yesterday but nearly got blown away so gave up. Will do it today as it's much calmer and the forecast is showing some sun. Am going to go for a walk around my local park today. It has a lake so I'll look out for any new chicks that have arrived. Will pop into the Post Office on the way back to send off my form that I had to fill in to claim my work pension. Think I will send it registered because the post at the moment is so slow, so, hopefully, it should get there earlier rather than later!Have a good day to you all x12

@Chrisca - I've been retired 10 years now and still wake up unfeasibly early every day, apart from the very occasional time I can't sleep in at all.Although it's fine outside there's a promise of heavy rain 'sweeping' in later with a yellow weather warning I'm effect. I'm not convinced that we'll have any wholly dry days again. My new specs arrived yesterday so I went round the house collecting the old ones, not just the previous set but the ones before that. Now I have to find out where to send them. Also delivered was the spider catcher though I'm going to use it for bees which wander in and then can't find the door. The window ledges are very wide and the living room one has a heavy sofa in front of it which I struggle to move. I'm hoping that this weird contraption will work so I can trap and then release the bees easily. Time will tell. This morning have a nail appointment and then one with the surgery nurse. That's my day so far.Sending hugs to all who want one.12

Morning folks and thanks GERS. A bright and sunny start for us and yesterday's nithering wind looks to have dropped. Fortunately we seemed to escape most of the forecasted rain but by heck it was cold. The DGDs said they were frozen stiff when they arrived and were glad I had the heating on.
It's bus trip day again and yet again bus buddy and I will probably end up in Skipton. Our once favourite pub is again in the bad books as not only was the service beyond slow last time and when it did arrive neither of us were impressed with our meals. So once again a change of venue to find today!
It was a traumatic day for DS yesterday. A long long saga so will be brief. His house, bought years ago, and then rented out when he moved in with his DP, has created lots of problems with the tenant. After complaints from the neighbours to the letting agents about her unsociable behaviour all hours of the day and night, an eviction order was issued giving her 21 days to move out. She didn't! So then bailiffs were booked and locksmith arranged for straight after to change the locks. She was warned of the date. So it happened yesterday, she had moved out finally and DS sent me videos of the state of the house. How do people live like that?! Every room was full of rubbish, some bagged some not, wallpaper hanging off the walls, carpets ruined, kitchen cupboard doors hanging off, etc etc. I could go on and on. I helped him decorate the house throughout when he bought it many years ago and the state of it now is heartbreaking. I said I will help as much as I can but I am nowhere near as agile now as I was back then. I couldn't get to sleep for thinking about it. There's always something to worry about with families!
Anyway waffling over so have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones, sad or lonely. Take care one and all, be safe. xx

Morning everyone CHIRSCA you are right I would love to be able to stay up later and have a lie in but it just doesn’t happen although I’m not a good sleeper I’m shattered on a night but go to bed and can’t sleep and spend a couple of hours reading. Well unbelievably it’s dry at the minute how long it will last I don’t know it was torrential yesterday and it took me all afternoon to dry my coat and trainers off after my dog walk . Gers I hand my old glasses in at the optician when I got my old ones I think they send them off to a charity. TA that’s shocking about the house my friend had the same problem and the day the bailiff was due the tenet took a hammer to the toilet and sink and flooded the house and your right when you have a family you never stop worrying I hope you have a nice lunch . Not a lot happening this way just dog walking and housework thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing12

Morning All
Dry for now but we're due heavy rain in a while which is to last until tomorrow - deep joy!
So many horror stories about renting out properties, DD has been very lucky with only a couple of things not right in the flat which were easily rectified but annoying all the same. I was there yesterday to clear a lot of things - just the furniture to get rid of now, I'm sure things will go easily if they are reasonable enough.
I have the little one today and tomorrow, we're off to the library this afternoon to make hyacinth pots - should be fun!
Gers - the local optician here takes unwanted specs, I think Specsavers have a special collection point for them.
Hope you're not getting too wet Coxy.
The weather yesterday cleared up enough to get some washing dry outside, just a bit of ironing to do later.
Hope you all have a good day, take care. XX12 -
Morning all. Dry here so far.
Dreadful news about your son's house TA but it seems to happen more and more these days. No wonder decent tenants find it so hard to get rentals when there are such people about.
I'm off to the museum in a while to meet up with the GCs. We've not been before but DD recommends it and you can use your ticket for the next 12 months so will give it a go.
Happy Wednesday everyone.12 -
Morning all
Bright and sunny day here but more rain due this afternoon, I spoke to Robs mum yesterday and she said he was on the mend and only had one episode yesterday 💩 I think she was keen for me to take him out but I said I won’t until he has 48hrs clear as I dont want him passing this onto anyone else, he does suffer a lot with his health but he has a very compromised immune system so tends to pick everything up, and his poor diet won’t help either !
So the rest of the week is my own, I am going to get the dogs out this morning and then go and do the shopping, I am also going to start sorting out the kitchen drawers which have got into a bit of a mess.
Dinner tonight will be jacket spuds with cheese and ham and some beans on the side, I have put the wm on this morning and hopefully I can hang the washing out for a while.
Our neighbours seem to be moving today they sold the house months ago and have had nothing but problems with the sale it has dragged on and on, the wife has already moved as her new job started so the husband has been there on his own for weeks, they are moving to somewhere in Yorkshire to be near elderly parents and their two daughters who went to uni up there and have stayed, I hope the new people we get as neighbours are nice people 🤞
TA what a shame about your DS house it’s dreadful that these people can get away with such behaviour xx
Have good days all and take care xx9
