Did they actually take 2 weeks to diagcarowner13 said:I have a bmw x3 on lease. I reported a leak in the boot a few months ago and the car was booked in to check it out. After two weeks I’m told it’s a blocked sun roof drain and that I have to pay for it. I’ve been told it comes down to an act of god. I need to get them to tell me under which part of the contract they are refusing to pay for it. Anyone have any experience here and whether they or I should be paying ?
thanksDid they actually take 2 weeks to realise it was a blocked drain? If it takes a garage 2 weeks to figure it out, and it isn't in the handbook, how are you supposed to figure it out?I've had a dozen or so cars with sunroofs that live outside permanently and I've never once had to clean out the drains, or had them leak, and 3 of them were made by Austin Rover!
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Perhaps the OP parks under trees more often than you?

One of ours lives under a yew tree. I have the lower screen trim out regularly to clean the plenum.Yes, I'm always pulling leaves out of the heater intake, and the drain holes by the wipers.I suppose it is the "modern", "better" design of sunroof, the ones I had used to seal into the roof and there wasn't anywhere for leaves to get in when they were shut. I think the newest one I've had was 1995, now I just go for air-con and a nice solid roof to keep the sun off me.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

My drive and work car parks are tree free. I think they worked the problem out pretty quickly. The lease company has been back and forward for the last two week seemingly checking that the two year inspection was done correctly and trying to find a way out to paying for it themselves.0
