Gatwick Drop Off Fine

As a university student, I am already living on a tight budget, self-funding my studies and striving to save for a master's degree, essential for my desired career path. Even if the fine were reduced to £60, it would significantly impact me, equivalent to nearly three weeks' worth of groceries.
I'm wondering if there's any recourse available to me. I recall hearing that in the past, the fine was reduced to a more manageable £15, which seems fairer to me. However, the prospect of facing a £60 is daylight robbery, considering it was an honest mistake on my part. While I did pay the drop-off charge promptly on Sunday once I remembered, I can't shake off the fear of receiving a fine in the post, and I want to be prepared and aware of my rights in such a situation. Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated.

Where did you get your time machine, or did you mean April the 15th last year?
It is not a fine.
The drop-off site at Gatwick is a known money-trap for parking companies.
Have you read the sticky thread for NEWBIES yet? That it is your starting point and will answer most of your questions before you need to ask them.
Have you received the NTK yet? When you do, and having read the NEWBIES, you will know how to appeal as keeper without blabbing about the driver's identity. Since the site is not relevant land where byelaws apply, the keeper cannot be held liable, which is why the driver's identity must not be revealed, so you should add that point to the appeal template in blue text you will find in the NEWBIES.I married my cousin.
