Posted my paper to photo driving licence renewal on 25th March with proofs of ID, which would need a real person to look at, and licence arrived in the post this morning with validity dates of 5th April. 2 week turnround with a bank holiday in the middle, pretty happy with that.

Daughter passed her test on a Thursday and was advised to keep her pass certificate as proof as her new licence could take 3-4 weeks.
It arrived on the following Monday.0
