Hello
I am a newbie..
I wish to pay a monthly direct debit with my credit card in order to earn the points. However, the company in question doesn't accept CC payments... is there any way around this?
Thanks

Also, does the credit card actually give points for that type of purchase. Many CC's have restrictions on what they give point for. For example many do not allow it for Utilities or Council tax payments for example.
A Direct Debit is a request and transfer of funds from your nominated bank account.
You may need to give more information to see if there is an alternative to a direct debit which may allow a credit card.0 -
If the company doesn't accept CC payments (not uncommon), then you can't pay by CC, simple as that. There isn't really any way around it - especially if the only reason you're wanting to do it is in order to earn points on your credit card.Even if you could pay by CC, it's worth weighing up whether it's actually worthwhile - for things like utility bills you'll sometimes get a slight discount for paying by DD, so the loss of any such discount may outweigh the value of any points you earn. But if they won't accept CC payments, then it's a moot point anyway.1

If they want DD, you need a bank account, you can't pay a DD only setup with a credit card
As above - you may not even be able to make the payment and there could be a chance of it being classed as cash or similarSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
