Shiply courier vanished with my items

I purchased 2 Ikea cabinets from eBay and the seller agreed I could source a courier and arrange collection myself. 

Went on Shiply and found a courier, paid them with the agreement that they would collect on 23rd MArch and deliver within 2-3 days.  Collection went fine and was all done to timeframe.

Cabinets have still not materialised and the courier has refused to offer a delivery date. 

The contact details that Shiply have are bogus - phone numbers that don't work, email address that pings back.  The couriers paypal email address was different and actually links to a company that dissolved in August 2023 ( now reopened under a different trading name )

Shiply have point blank refused to take any responsibility for the situation despite their website stating that all couriers are vetted, verified and fully checked before being allowed on their platform.  

The seller gave me a number that the courier had called him on when doing the collection - eventually got an answer to be told he is "just a driver" and to take it up with Shiply.

Shiply emailed to inform me that as the deadline had passed and I hadn't left feedback that they would automatically leave positive feedback on my behalf!!  I left negative feedback instead so Shiply have marked the delivery as completed and closed any communication down with the courier via themselves.

Courier driver has now blocked my number.

Police claim it isn't classed as theft because the goods were ever delivered to me.

What can I do?  Other than accept that Shiply is corrupt and full of crooks and conmen.

The cabinets were purchased with money that my mum gave me before she passed away so it's an extra special blow them being stolen.

Has Shiply actually breached their consumer care policy because this courier clearly hasn't been vetted or checked - if they had of been then they would have up to date information on there that actually connects you to them.  The fact that they have charged me to connect me with verified couriers surely places some owness of responsibility onto them?

The courier is called AIRSPEEDER and I cannot state hard enough to avoid them like hot stink!  Their paypal email address lists them as Fauzer Logistics who dissolved last year and the company directors are now listed as owning and running Xpert Delivery Ltd who I have also contacted.

Please can anyone offer any advice xx

  • I cannot offer any advice as yet, my delivery was arranged thro SHIPLY paid for and insured. It was due for delivery LAST Thursday 15/08/2024exactly one week after collection. It is now Tuesday 20/08/2024 afternoon I have tried to contact both SHIPLY & NoHassle_team(13994) email (office@logisticsservices, I am not getting any responses since last Friday, twice promised that I would be contacted within 6hrs. I will update this as and when I can.
  • I am finally responding to my own comment above. The delivery mentioned took 2 weeks to reach its destination, it seemed as if that only occurred as the recipient posted on their site that he was going on holiday if not received the following day. It did, but not on time. Overall chasing this company and its delivery agent No-hassle-team ! meant 23 emails and 5 phone calls and only the latter ones receive any meaningful response. However many deliveries they get right do you want to be the one that goes wrong, I would recommend thinking very carefully before using either of these companies.
  • Wow I’m having same problem bought an item on eBay 12/09/24 collected on 18/09/24 been chasing them for delivery which at point of booking with them was within a week! Still no delivery confirmed only a reply that a van had been off the road for 4 days! Contacted Shipley regarding no delivery date booked. No hassle team are defiantly not no hassle they are no delivery at the moment for me…
  • Yes as I thought hassle free logistics collected my item on 12/09/24 but failed to deliver within a week. Not even booked it in for delivery… Shipley ignoring my concerns that this company have kept my item. I will have to contact eBay for item not delivered wow such an awful company to deal with. Will be contacting police and trading standards can’t believe they can get away with this?
  • Just received an email after quoting breach of contract under the consumers rights act 2015. Apparently they are delivering on 30/09/24 19 days after booking with them… let’s see if it arrives and in what condition. 12 days later than expected would never use this company again absolute nightmare!
  • Shiply is a den of thieves, last year a good friend of mine employed one of their operatives to move a large item for him. He never saw the item or the half of the fee he'd paid in advance ever again. Shiply said his issue was with the courier and refused to help.
