Decking for Hot Tub - Weight

    I suppose the ideal solution would be to lay a concrete base. An easier way could be to dig down a few cms and lay some gravel. It might still sink a little after heavy rain, but at least would let some air around the decking base so less likely to rot. 
    Dig down 150mm, put in ~100mm of well compacted MOT1. Where the supports go, bed some pad stones down on concrete, and then fill the rest of the area with gravel. When the time comes to get rid of the decking, you'll have a substantial base ready for laying slabs (or what ever the next "in thing" is).

    In fact I did not think that decking was the current 'in thing' anymore !
