Decking for Hot Tub - Weight

Dig down 150mm, put in ~100mm of well compacted MOT1. Where the supports go, bed some pad stones down on concrete, and then fill the rest of the area with gravel. When the time comes to get rid of the decking, you'll have a substantial base ready for laying slabs (or what ever the next "in thing" is).Albermarle said:I suppose the ideal solution would be to lay a concrete base. An easier way could be to dig down a few cms and lay some gravel. It might still sink a little after heavy rain, but at least would let some air around the decking base so less likely to rot.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

In fact I did not think that decking was the current 'in thing' anymore !FreeBear said:

Thanks for all the replies. In this section of the garden there was a makeshift decking that the previous owners installed.Looks like 4 pallets with composite decking tiles on top. All very level - However not quite so when the hotub was on top and filled.Going to order the heavy duty hot tub decking tonight to take it's place.0
