in Cutting tax
With all the various tax allowances for married and civil partner relationships I am curious to know what is the situation for couples that are not married where one partner gives money from their salary to their other half for housekeeping, the other half not working and taking a small work pension of e.g less than £100 per month. Does the non working partner have to pay tax on the housekeeping money that has already been taxed from their partner's salary?

So A earns big bucks and give B £50 (or whatever) a week to buy groceries to feed them both. That's not income and wouldn't be taxed. Doesn't matter if they are married or not.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards.
