Current account with DRO
Options
Hi,
My DRO has recently been approved for two overdrafts and two credit cards.
I have a normal current account with Barclays which I have never owed money to same with my chase account. Will I lose these accounts seeing how they are normal current accounts or will it be fine? I got told you need to have a basic account I was reading but I assume that would only mean if I wanted to open a new account? Citizen advice do know about this and they said it should be fine.
Thanks in advice.

Any currently open bank accounts that you do not owe any money too should be fine.
Only debts included in your DRO are affected.
Keep in mind banks do occasionally do checks for insolvency, some banks are OK with it, some are not, generally you should not have any issues.
If they do give you notice of closure, obviously you would need to make alternative arrangements for your banking.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Thanks for the reply.
I did open a Virgin Money basic account last week just to be on the safe side if I do have to change banks but hopefully, I'll be fine.
