Barclaycard Forward. Change card type?

Hi all. Have a Barclaycard Forward card with £1200 limit, no balance, they've already reduced the APR, and hasn't been used in about a yr. Was taken as a credit builder card and it's done it's job. I was interested in changing it to another card to get fee free spending overseas, but the option to change the card isn't offered in the app. Is this just a not now thing or do BC restrict "upgrades" from the forward card in a similar way to how some banks won't let you upgrade basic bank accounts? I can just close the card and wait 6 months to reapply if so, just wondered if anyone had the answer!
