Hi, my son came to me this morning with his HP laptop that's only about 2 months old from brand new.
The screen is so bright he could hardly make out the mouse cursor.
I've gone to brightness and reduced this but it still stays the same where its difficult to read the text or see the mouse cursor.
I've taken a photo to show the comparison of my screen (top) and his laptop (bottom)
HP 15-fc0008na
Any advice please?
Thanks.

This could be a potential fix: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Dull-washed-out-colour/td-p/8614826

Yes take it back to the shop you bought it from , show them the issue and insist on a repair and if unable to be repaired a replacement.
It's only two months old and should have not developed a fault already
Is there any other damage to the laptop I.e. from where it could have been dropped? I ask cause if there is then the retailer will blame that on the fault0 -
take it back to the shop and get a replacement in case there are other problems with the unit.My Signature is MY OWN!!0

Check the graphics driver is installed. They sometimes get replaced with an incompatible one as part of WIndows Update. You can get the most recent compatible one from HP's website. If this is a software issue there's no point taking it back to repair as all they'd do is wipe it. Software issues are not covered by warranty.1
