CIFAS report

Hi i requested a CIfAs Sdar and it said Santander undertook a search on 03 April 2024 using your details - please contact Santander for further information
Can anyone explain what this means and would it stop me getting a new rental property?

Havent you answered you own question? You asked them for information and they carried out a credit check as part of it.

Why do you think this would stop you getting a rental property?

Hi i had an account with them a while back which i never used do i asked them to close it. Just dont understand what that means on CIFAS though

Just asking for a bit of clarification. I did not do a credit check. I did a subject access request with CIFAS and i was just wondering what that means thats all

What triggered you to do a SAR @ CIFAS, as it's not something people would think about unless they were worried about why they had been declined getting a bank account.

I am looking for a new rental property. Had a ccj few years ago. I am starting to look for a new rental propertt. I signed up to clearscore and have asked for my full report and also cifas even though cifas said nothing ontherr on my clearacore. Just wanted to know everything about my credit report etc. Want to be 100% on my rental application if that makes sense

Assuming you either have an account with them or recently applied for a product with them then no its not... if you've never held any products with them and never applied for anything from them then it wouldn't be an issue from what's on CIFAS but would suggest someone has tried to do something in your name.

Thanks very much. Yeah i had an account with them which i asked them to close. Maybe its just something they do as routine as they called me to make sure it was it was a genuine closure request. Thanks for all your help 🙂
