Good morning.Hope the wind eases in your part of the country Gers.Well first day of retirement and, as expected, woke just before 5am! Today's plan is to go on my exercise bike when I can drag myself out of my nice warm bed, shower and then take 2 bags to a very large charity shop in a retail park about 25 minutes away before the car park gets too busy. While there I'll have a browse round the shops. I'm looking for some large pots for the garden to replace some that are tatty. I want to plant some sweet pea seeds later too.Hope everyone has a good day x12

My weekend was very windy and rainy, I didn't go out anywhere. I spent some time rationalising my crockery and deciding what I did or didn't need anymore, something I've been putting off for ages. The big white towel which has a weird staining is now washed and ready for the textile bin, I've put a note on it in case people think it's dirty.I roasted chicken thighs, made a big pot of leek, carrot and lentil soup and roasted peppers. The soup is the best this winter, I wish it could be replicated. Even though I always use the same ingredients it doesn't always turn out the same. This morning I'm going to my exercise class and then onto visit a friend, then probably go to Oban for some shopping - not finally decided yet as the wind is forecasted to worsen again.Lovely to see you @Bella, your trip sounds wonderful. Hugs to our poorlies.13

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Thankfully the strong winds have left us today but are due back tomorrow. But of course it's raining. Are we ever going to have any nice weather?! I know just what you mean GERS about not being able to replicate a delicious soup the second time round - one of life's mysteries!
No fixed plans for today I shall just go with the flow. I should resume my half hearted clear out of stuff no longer used, worn or needed but I have lost my ruthless head. I get as far as looking then shut the doors again! Although yesterday I did give DS a bag of books for his DP so that's a start! But all that did was to replace the books she passed on last week so the bookcase is still overflowing!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better, sad or lonely. Take care all and stay safe xx

Oh what a change …….it’s raining! At least the wind has dropped!Back to work for a few hours this afternoon via the library and some orders/parcel drop offs at post office. Plus some shopping on the way home. If I manage to get anything done around all those then it’ll be a bonus.Hope everyone has a good start to the week

Morning All
Much calmer this morning after the really strong winds of the last couple of days. It was great for drying the washing but I did have trouble getting it on the line!
I had the little one for the weekend and she was a little treasure, I think she went home very tired! Saturday was the library to make a spring wreath followed by a party for one of her nursery friends and I took her swimming on the way home to a fun pool, she loved the waves knocking her over and even went on the slide with me. Needless to say she slept very well on Saturday night!
I'm going to the allotment to plant out the onions this morning whilst it's dry and sunny and will have to pot on some of the tomato seedlings later - there seems to be a small forest of them as I always think the seeds won't grow! Still, plenty to give out.
Hope you're all well and enjoyed the weekend. Take care. XX12 -

Morning all, the rain woke me about 5, but the wind has droppped for now.I had thought I might have a trip out on the bus somewhere but can't be bothered keep getting wet. Pooch wasn't keen on going out in the rain either so it was a pretty short walk earlier. The pork tenderloin last night was lovely, cooked in the nin ja grill- it has a thermometer probe so was just right. I found some scones tucked away in the freezer for after- still trying to get some space in there! I need to pull something out for tonight. Perhaps I should have another sort out of the freezers if I'm not going out!Lovely photo Izzy.Hope you are all well, take care x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
